About
About me
My name is Andrea Micheloni and I'm a Computer Science postgrad living in Hamburg, Germany. I am actually a guy, as "Andrea" is a male name in Italy (but you could tell looking at the photo, couldn't you?).
Anyway, you can call me Andrew or Mike.
I develop software both because of my studies and for fun: I especially like to solve challenging problems and to simplify my life with a little more automation.
I am particularly interested in the fields of Computer Security and Cryptography, the latter somehow limited to the implementation side. I also like networking and telecommunication theory.
I am pretty experienced and work with linux systems, though I also develop software with Java or python.
About this website
I'm currently using this website:
- to host my projects and share them with everyone;
- to test bleeding-edge PHP scripts on a live server;
- to brag about it with people (thus allowing me to purchase moo business cards);
Powering this website is the simple-yet-powerful GetSimple.
I actually wanted something simple and XML-based, so had started writing my own website from scratch in early 2009, but the project never reached a mature code state. GetSimple is what I needed, and its code is well-written and easy to understand, so that customization is not a problem.
